Andy was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and graduated from Madison High School in 1986. He went on to attend Texas A&M University in the Fall of 1986. Andy lettered in football as a member of the original Texas A&M 12th Man Kick Off Team and graduated in 1990 with a degree in Kinesiology. He then attended Southwest Texas State University where he received a degree in Physical Therapy in 1995. In 1996 Andy and his wife moved to Fredericksburg where he began his career in physical therapy. As an owner of SM&PT Andy opened a new outpatient clinic in Fredericksburg in 2001 and played an active role in developing satellite clinics in Marble Falls, Llano, Blanco, and Kerrville.

Andy is married to Kelli and they have two boys that keep them very busy with sports and school activities. As a family they enjoy any activity around the water and especially love family trips to the beach.

Jody Brown, PT

Jody was born and raised in Stephenville, TX. After graduating from Stephenville High School in 1995, he attended Abilene Christian University where he graduated in the Spring of 1999 with a BS in Biology. Jody lettered in football four years at ACU. He then enrolled in Hardin-Simmons University’s Physical Therapy program and graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy December 2001. Jody joined the SM&PT family in January 2002, became an owner in 2005 and helped open the Kerrville SM&PT clinic in April 2006.

Jody is married to Keedra and they have 2 children. They stay very busy outside of SM&PT supporting their kids in many different sports.

Ardra Hughes, PT, ScD

Ardra is from Texas and graduated high school from Medina Valley in 1990. After graduation she attended Brevard College where she received an Associate degree in 1992. In 1994 she earned a Bachelor of Science, and graduated Summa Cum Laude, from Lubbock Christian University She also competed on scholarship in cross country and track throughout her undergraduate education. Ardra went on to receive her Master of Physical Therapy from Hardin Simmons University in 1998 and joined the SM&PT team in 2005 where she became an owner in 2009. While working with SM&PT she continued her education and earned a Doctor of Science from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2010. Ardra is an APTA Board Certified Sports Specialist, IAOM certified, and TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certified.

Caitlin Riley, PT, DPT

Caitlin Riley, PT, DPT

Caitlin, a native of Austin, Texas, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Angelo State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She continued her education at Angelo State, earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2013. Caitlin joined the SM&PT team in 2014 and currently serves as Clinic Director in the Kerrville clinic. Additionally, Caitlin is a certified Clinical Instructor and fills other roles within SM&PT. She excels in Orthopedic and Sports Medicine treatments. Community involvement and volunteer work are important to her. She currently serves at her church and an outdoor challenge course focusing on the leader and team development.

Caitlin enjoys country dancing, music, outdoor kayaking, and camping with her husband, Reece, and their family.

Erika North, PT

Erika North, PT

Erika graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a minor in Public Relations in 2002. She graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 2006.

She enjoys treating both adult and pediatric patients with orthopedic neurological conditions. Erika joined SM&PT in 2017.
Erika loves exploring the Hill Country with her three children, and her two dogs.

Jacob (Jake) Hoermann grew up in the Fredericksburg, TX area. He attended Hardin-Simmons University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Following his undergraduate studies, he remained at Hardin-Simmons University to attain his Doctor of Physical Therapy and soon after began working at SM&PT. While completing his undergraduate studies he met his wife, Kaitlin, and has been married for four wonderful years. They were recently blessed with their first baby boy, Warren, in March of 2020. Following his undergraduate studies, he remained at Hardin-Simmons University to attain his Doctor of Physical Therapy and soon after began working at SM&PT.

Stacey Asbill, PT

Stacey is originally from Sonora, TX and graduated from Sonora High School in 1999. She attended Angelo State University and graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2003. Stacey has worked predominately in outpatient physical therapy since. Her primary interest and experience are in orthopedic physical therapy. Still, as a rural-area physical therapist, she also has experience with neurological conditions, vestibular rehab, and pediatric physical therapy. She joined SM&PT in 2019 and works in the Llano location. She and her husband have four children and enjoy ranching near Mason.

Michael Curtin, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, FAAOMPT

Michael Curtin, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, FAAOMPT

Michael Curtin is a native Texan and grew up in San Antonio. He attended Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business. He attended Texas Woman’s University in Dallas and received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Several years later he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After practicing physical therapy for a year, Michael joined the U.S. Air Force in 2001 and was deployed around the world. In 2021, Michael retired from the Air Force and started working for SM&PT and works in the Kingsland and Marble Falls locations. Michael is a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedics and is Fellowship Trained in Manual Physical Therapy and Musculoskeletal Primary Care. He has 20 years of direct access primary patient care and fifteen years of experience educating junior therapists, physical therapy assistants, student therapists, and physical therapy technicians. Distinct areas of expertise include movement and gait analysis, dry needling, manipulation and mobilization, health and wellness, certified clinical instructor, and PT educator/instructor/program director.

Mike McKaskle, PT, DPT

Mike McKaskle, PT, DPT

Mike was born in Big Spring, Texas and raised on a cotton farm. He left the farm for Texas Tech University and graduated with a BS in Exercise Sports Science in 1996. He continued his education at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene where he received his MS in Physical Therapy in 1999. Upon graduation he returned to Lubbock to start his career at Methodist Outpatient Rehab until 2003. He was then hired by Physical Therapy Today, a start up outpatient physical therapy clinic in Lubbock. While employed there, he returned to post graduate work and received his Professional Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy Evidence in Motion of Health Professions. In 2021, he moved to the big city of Ingram, Texas and began work with SM&PT in our Kerrville clinic.

He loves a challenge and believes physical therapy can change people’s lives. In his spare time, he loves anything to do with the outdoors and working on classic cars.

Sydney Buettner, PT, DPT

Sydney Buettner, PT, DPT

Sydney was born and raised in Kerrville and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She continued her education at Texas State University and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. She has been a “frequent flyer” at SM&PT throughout the years from patient, to student, to officially joining the SM&PT team in 2021. She loves working with all her patients and has a special place in her heart for orthopedic and sports conditions.

The Army had Sydney and her husband, Davis, leave Texas in 2019 to go explore North Carolina; however, they quickly realized Texas was better and returned as soon as they could. In her free time, Sydney enjoys taking naps, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Mia graduated from Austin Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2001. After 10 years in an outpatient setting in Round Rock, Texas Mia and her husband moved to the Hill Country. Mia switched to the home health setting which allowed her to learn the new area. After 11 years, and over 200,000 miles, Mia has joined SM&PT in our Marble Falls clinic.

When not working Mia enjoys working on the ranch, spending time with family, friends and her animals.

TJ Nicholson, PT, DPT

TJ Nicholson, PT, DPT

TJ was born and raised in Minnetonka, Minnesota and graduated from Minnetonka High School in 2015. He then went on to receive a scholarship to play baseball at North Iowa Area Community College where he received his associates degrees, and where he met his wife Amanda. He finished his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science Pre Physical Therapy at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He continued his studies at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2022. He has a passion for improving health and function and is continually looking for new research to further his knowledge to best serve his patients.

TJ and his wife Amanda both participate in CrossFit, enjoy the outdoors, are big animal lovers, and love spending time with their family.

Sara Parker, PT, DPT

Sara Parker, PT, DPT

Sara was born and raised in Boston, MA. She attended Northeastern University, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Sara worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting in downtown Boston for eight years. She is married to a native Texan who couldn’t stay away from his Hill Country roots. Sara and her husband decided to move back to the Hill Country before welcoming their first child in the fall of 2021. They feel so blessed to be a part of this community and raise their family here.

Sidney Parker, PT, DPT

Sidney Parker, PT, DPT

Sidney was originally from the Abilene area but was graduated from high school in Graham, Texas, in 2014. She attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology. Sidney then attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2021. Upon graduation, she worked with various patient populations in the outpatient setting but primarily focused on athletes. Sidney is also certified in dry needling. When not at work, she enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing golf, fishing, and spending time with her son Coy.
